Vision:To instill in students asense of enthusiasm for chemistry , an appreciation of its application in an industrial , economic , environmental and social context and to involve them in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying.

Mission:To awaken the young budding minds and discover their talents  both in both in theory and  in practical Chemistry ,through dedication to teaching commitment to students and innovative instructional methods.

                     To support the developmental activities of the college in all aspects and makes the department vibrant.

Values:Chemistry is basis of our lives as it is involved in Industry, Agriculture, Medicine , Pharmacy , Preservation of food.

Objectives:

1. To provide students the scientific skill and chemical knowledge  essential for   success .


2. To train students in proper laboratory  & safety techniques .


3. To encourage the pursuit of lifelong learning & to foster the commitment to ethical and social Responsibility

History:

• The department of chemistry was established in the year 1980-1981 with I.Sc.


• Sc (Pass) was opened in the year 1986-87 vide letter no 8936/EYS dtd 20.02.1987 .


• Sri Babulal behera (HOD) , Sri B. N Dash (lect) & Sri G.N Purohit (Demo) had imparted their teaching in the department of Chemistry


• In 1990-91 Chemistry Honours was opened with nine students.


• Programmme and Courses by the department are as per the course offered by Sambalpur University
