Objectives: The PHYSICS department is committed to impart quality education both in theoretical as well as experimental physics with special emphasis on” learning by doing”.

History: The department was established in the year 1993 with PHYSICS as Honours subject with an intake capacity of only 16 students . At that time Prof. Ajay Kumar Mohanty was our Head of the Department. Afterword in the year 2015 the Honours seat was increased from 16 to 32.
