Name of Department             :  BOTANY

Vision of the department      :  To promote the culture of learning by educating students in the basics of plant sciences and to impart quality education.

Mission of the department   :  1) To know the importance and scope of Botany.

2) To impart knowledge of science as the basic objective of education.

3) To make aware of natural resources and environment and the importance of    conserving it.

Objectives of the department :  To develop an aptitude towards science and nature, to equip the students with the basic skill in identifying and labelling different plants, to impart quality education in the field of Botany enabling our students to confidently face the job market.

History of the department   :  The department of Botany was established in the year 1980 with I.Sc. It has a glorious history. Dr. C.B.Dutta had imparted his teaching in the department. In 1986-87 Botany (Pass) was opened & in 1990-91 Botany(Hons.) was opened with 5 students named Pravin Kumar Sharma, Md. Hamid, Habib Ur Rahman, Raj Kishore Biswal and Pradeep Kumar Sarangi.
